I’m Yuri Torres. Born in the Peruvian Amazon in 1991.  Over the past nine years, I have lived in South America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Vastly different contexts and cultures that have shaped the way I see and engage with the world.
I’ve found in photography a way to express myself. Since I got my first Canon 7D Mark ii,  I’ve started a self-learning process through my lens and I couldn't be happier.  I’ve never seen the world the same, ever again. I want to dedicate and share my passion with all those whom, without knowing it, have helped me grow. I believe that everyone is a teacher and a student, and I’ve learned to keep going forward, with faith and curiosity, thanks to those who taught me by example how to be brave, tender, unconditional, passionate and strong.

A piece of myself is shared and left behind in every country and with all those who I've met along the way.  SIGHTSOULS is a personal project that aims to portrait those places and its people.
In this project, I'll refer to them by a COLOUR.NUMBER as a private code of our shared story.  It might look random to you, but it kinda simplifies emotions, moments, dates, songs, passwords, you name it.
This project has started in DUBAI... Thailand, Spain, Holland are coming soon.

What can I say? I have a bunch of incredible people backing me up, always! no matter how far I wonder. Many wonderful souls that no matter what, they believe in me!

I've been kinda scared to show my work coz It's never good enough but the truth is that I've started this project, for them. For you, her and him that have been the most beautiful gift I could have asked for. I may not have been around much but I hope that with my photography I can reach all those that have inspired me and give a bit of gratitude back.

SIGHTSOULS is about the places and people that have shaped me as the person I am now. Moments shared in many shapes and intensities that just makes it all worth it.

I hope you can be part of my photography and personal growth.
Any feedback, suggestion and ideas are greatly welcome!!

Love, Yuri.
